Its been TOO LONG!

Its been WAY to long since I updated this blog. I've never really been one to keep a journal or a diary etc, but recently Ive been thinking about this blog and updating it with various events etc.

Given that, I thought I'd take a quick 5 minutes with my nice cup of tea and post some stuff thats been happening.

Still doing some contract work with Max Software as a Software Trainer, so that has kept me busy with a little bit of travel. I just got back from Brisbane this morning. My flight was scheduled to leave last night but was cancelled at 7pm when it was suppose to be taking off .... missing staff members apparently! At least they gave me a refund of the flight, a new ticket for the morning and accommodation with transport too and from.

There is lots of activity happening at the club right now. The Stand To! 40k tournament for March was poorly organised by me and resulted in a small turnout - those that did play had a good time though!

We have a Malifaux tournament scheduled for 18th April, which is being organised by Michael (tenabrae on our forums). That should be a fun event, a nice small tournament restricted to a starter box only - I've been enjoying this game so far and it will be great fun to see how the tournament pans out.

Anyway, thats my 5 minutes spent here. Hopefully as things improve (for me personally and for Battle Bunker) the motivation to keep this blog updated will be more prevalent.

All the best people and have fun gaming!
Cheers

Happy New Year

2010 is going to be a great year, I can feel it ...

I was just reading the forums and noticed a post from Hampshire, UK ... which got me to thinking about my family there and the fact that I have never visited them there! Bad ... very bad.

In turn, that lead me to think about my future plans for Battle Bunker and me personally. I would really like to see a store opened in the UK by the end of 2012. There are lots of things I have planned up until that point, and it would be fantastic if it all came together!

This year is a year of shift for me ... had to move house, move the shop and my ultimate direction (my 'career') has also changed. I have a lot of plans for this year, some of which are already in progress ... others require more investment and work, others just pipe dreams at this stage.

I've always been a dreamer, a thinker ... one thing I'm hoping that I can also change this year is the associated 'flip-side' to being a dreamer, being a do'er. It's been great to have so many wonderful people around me, providing encouragment, support and assistance. Without many of those people, things would be different for me today.

Time really does fly past, as you get older time just moves faster. I cant believe I'll be 32 in April! I still feel like a teenager, still act like a teenager and play with plastic soldiers and toys (like many teenagers!) ... and so I'm thankful I have the chance to do something I enjoy, and the opportunity to build an awesomely fun business empire.

And it will be an empire! Like I said, a dreamer that has lots of ideas and plans doesn't settle for average. I dream big and play big ... everything or nothing! I want everything!

Stay tuned this year, the blog will be more personal ... Facebook will be for business (check out our page here ... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Battle-Bunker/129419449245) ... LOTS of events and activities on our forum!

Good luck this year, I know it will be a fantastic and successful year for everyone!
Cheers

Warhammer Fantasy Tournament

We hosted an awesome weekend of Fantasy battle over 14/15th November.

All those that participated expressed great satisfaction and really enjoyed the variety of armies to play against. The only 'double up' in the armies were the Warriors of Chaos and the Wood Elves, the latter eventually taking 1st place.

Games were played on 6x4' tables within a 2.5hrs time period. 5 games were played in total over the two days, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

Congratulations to everyone that played and/or came along to watch etc. We're looking forward to hosting the next Fantasy Tournament in early 2010.

Winner: Tony (wood elves)
Best Sportsman: Nick (warriors of chaos)
